Dear Mr. Pearson,

RE: Peter and the Starcatchers

“Peter and the Starcatchers” is one of my favorite books of all time. I just recently finished reading it and can’t wait to continue reading on in the series! I’ve also been reading your other series, “The Kingdom Keepers” and am excitedly waiting for number five to come out.

I have a couple favorite moments in the book. The first was when Peter found out he could fly without starstuff and that he would never grow older. To me that moment just seemed magical and made Peter seem just, well special. As though the starstuff was different with him. The second was after Peter cut Stache’s hand off. When Smee and Stache were walking down the beach and Stache wanted Smee to pick up his hand. That was just too funny. I laughed when I read that!

Recently my teacher has been teaching me about how an author tries to influence a reader when they write the book. I have been thinking that you have tried to influence me in three ways. The first was when you influenced me to dislike the character Black Stache. You influenced me by having Stache kill people when they became no longer useful to him. The second was when you made me feel like I wanted to be in the book. You made me want to be in the book by making Peter have all these wonderful adventures such as learning about the starstuff, meeting the mermaids, and battling Black Stache. My last influence was that you involved things kids find interesting like pirates and magic. By using things kids found interesting you really hooked me on the series.

Thank-you for writing all these amazing books. You really make the world of literature more interesting! I hope you continue your writing career for a long time, so more people can enjoy your work.

Thank-you once again!
